Print to PDF & Digital Signatures

One Hope United -

Hi One Hope United Staff,

Your One Hope United technology team is excited to bring you Tech Tips! This is a monthly article that will be released through Zendesk, inside.onehopeunited.org, and all company e-blasts focusing on one topic in software, hardware, or best practices.

For this article, we are going to show you how to print to PDF. Using this method can help you save time and paper by eliminating the need to print, sign, and scan documents.

Someone sends you a document and you need to sign and return it. Old scenario – print it out, sign it, scan it to yourself, and then email it as an attachment. Tedious right? New scenario – you print the document to a pdf format, digitally sign it, and send the email as an attachment. That’s it! There is no paper involved but you have a receipt of the unsigned and signed documents and the process is secure. Follow the directions at the end of this article to get started on print to PDF software.

After using the print to PDF software, you can use Adobe Reader to digitally sign the document. It could take a long time to write out the steps involved in digitally signing a document, so here is a friendly YouTube video and text instructions to guide you through signing a document digitally. If you want to sign a document from Microsoft Word, save the document as a PDF file by clicking on file -> Save as. Under the document title editor, click on the ‘Save as Type’ drop down menu and select ‘PDF’. That will save your document as a PDF document. You can add a signature from there.

We hope these technology tips will aid you in accomplishing your daily tasks easier and staying up to date with current technologies. Feel free to send any tech tip article ideas or feedback to it@onehopeunited.org
